My luck ran out. Whos rockin a jb-welded case cover?!

Well my bmx sliders failed me today. Was doing second gear standups all day and then tried a first gear, clutched it too hard and planted the tail in the ground. Tried to rear brake it but couldn't get it, wobbled and fell from approx. 10mph. Peg took some of the impact but the 8grade bolt stripped and bent right away.

The bottom bolt on my crankcase cover got pushed up a bit and put some cracks in it had a small puddle of oil on the ground. I checked ebay and couldn't find anything. A new cover is like $100. I was thinking about jbwelding it, anyone else rocking jb welded covers???

Iw as going to, but mine broke into to many pieces. But this is what I was told to do. Takes the cover off, clean it with some brake cleaner. Put a little JB Weld on the inside, and put alot of JB weld on the outside. And yah should be good. Im sure there's other ways, but it can be done..

Yo the same thing just happened to me...........with a cage. My case cover just got knicked near one of the bottom bolts.....It also put 3 hairline cracks in my motor. We JB welded the inside and outside of the motor. Its holding up nice and hasent leaked a drop. Just make sure you get all the oil off using brake cleaner. Also scuff up the surface with sandpaper.

about 1/3 of the case where the stator cover is has been jb welded. if you need the cover look at bikebandit.com i think that i got mine for 68 and it was a stock replacement.

it can be done though, but make sure that the surface is really clean or else you will still leak a lot of oil.

JB Weld will work, I actually fixed my oil pump cover with some type of quick setting metal epoxy, and just applied to the outside of the cover, and that sh*ts been holding for a while...

Yeah, I have a jb-welded stator cover. Make sure you take it off and clean it REAL good. JB weld doens't stick if there's ANY oil present. I sanded the outside with some 60 grit sandpaper to rough it up and used a shitload. On the inside I smeared a little with my finger to make it seal better. It should work no problem.
