front sprocket

I am trying to find out how hard it is to go down one in the front. Is it a complicated process? Where do I start?

Re: front sprocket

Call Phil At Moto-heaven And Buy -1 Front Sprocket For Your Make And Model Bike [484-951-3128]

Loosen Your Rear Axel Bolt And Set Bolts So You Can Get Some Slack On Your Chain.
Remove Your Front Sprocket Cover And Then Remove The Center Bolt On The Front Sprocket. I Think That Year Has The Speedo Counter On The Front Sprocket, So Remember The Order That It Goes Back In.[use A Impact To Remove The Bolt If Poss. Cause Throwing It In Gear Can Sometimes Hurt The Drive Train]
Replace The Sprocket And Retighten Both Chain Tension Bolts, Then Torque Your Rear Axel Bolt And Your In Bussiness.

Last But Not Least, Just Take A Minute To Double Check All Your Nuts/ Bolts Just To Make Sure That Their All Tight.

Re: front sprocket

I just changed my front sprocket on wed. -2 Was not hard, never did it before and the whole process took me about 1 1/2 from start to finish or removing the plastics and putting them back on. To remove the large nut holding the sprocket in place, I had my g-f stand on the rear brake while I used a large ratchet to loosen it up, worked fine with the rear brake applied. Don't forget to use thread-lock on the necessary threads. The most time consuming thing was setting the chain tension again. I hate doing that.

Good luck, don't be affraid of the project, there are I think a total of 6 bolts to remove to get tot eh sprocket. So it is no big deal.
Good Luck
