F3 guys without gauges

Did your bikes run like **** when you unplugged your gauges? Mine doesn't run right unless they're plugged in.

Re: F3 guys without gauges

I think i remember reading that u have to ground a wire to make it run right without guages. Their is a solinoid that switches between the hoses that look like deer whistles and the normal ram air at 10-20mph. The solidnoid is switched on and off according to the signal from your speed sensor and I think it all runs threw the guages. When the solinoid isn't switching right it will run like crap at low rpms.

Check www.cbrworld.net for the specific wire u have to ground.

yea man, or they dont run at all.

I took my guages off and the fuel pump didnt work. the fuel pumps are designed to cut out if the ENGINE light comes on.

i run an aftermarket pump on a switch now

Re: F3 guys without gauges

alright we got a couple more street-riding problems. Without the gauges plugged in the front brake switch doesn't work (don't have the rear hooked up) and the turn signals don't work. Anybody got those figured out?

ever since i took my guages off the bike has been idling fine but bogs out when i get on it. i assumed it was a vacuum problem from the fire but could this maybe have something to do with it??

Re: F3 guys without gauges

there's a solid pink wire on one of the plugs for the gauges. You gotta ground that wire to the frame to get rid of the bogging because it's the solenoid for the ram air that switches when you hit a certain speed.

I'd still like to figure out how to get my brake lights to work without the gauges plugged in though.

Once again, why would you want to remove the gauges?

god damn, you ever heard of a streetfighter?

that and the guage panel on f2's and f3's is huge and stupidly ugly.

Yeah, I've heard of a Street Fighter, hell I've gotten some of the magazines and seen bikes with gauges still. I understand the looks over function part though.

Re: F3 guys without gauges

Crashes = broken parts.. why replace expensive gauges, not like you need them.

<--- that bike has none, F4 (never had a problem without, prolly just an f2/3 thing)
