foot in back seat?

Hey guys i've been seeing pics of people doing standups and putting their left foot inside where the passenger seat is supposed to be. How easy does that plastic break? I'm looking for a way to get more leverage on my standups but i don't want to put on a 12 bar yet. But i don't want to break my tail piece either by putting my foot in there. Some body with some experience hook me up with this.

I wouldn't even recomend to do 12` with no 12 bar.I've seen 100 times people crash or smashing tail peace with no 12 bar, then they put it on!You will do fine and 1 day just go 2 far.Foot on a seat is for sure harder to keep balance and don't go 2 far back.

how do you guys clutch it up?? w/ all the weight in the truck or try to make it even??? when i tried to clutch it up w/ the foot in the trunk my bike completely leaned to the right......... i think the only way id be able to do it is clutch it up in the staggered position then move my leg in there.

Another option is to move your peg back. Just drill ya a couple holes farther back in the subframe whereever looks and feels good and move it back there. Takes alot of weight off your arms. Also helps when you're tall like me.

Re: foot in back seat?

hope this helps. thew is who taught me 12 and he couldnt have helped me more. im sure youve heard of the wobble, when your bike goes side to side and can throw ya. well thew pointed it out to me that using your back peg is way more stable as far as weight distibution and what not to learn on than using the bar or your rear seat. hope that helps you out, good luck.

im a lil over 6'1'' i was just gonna wait till i put my 12 bar on and mount a peg there........ but that drilling subframe idea sounds good.

6'5" and it makes ahell of a difference. F4i's are easy to do it to also. Just go back 6"-8" from the original spot. You can also angle the back hole higher than the front to flatten the peg more. I'd get an extra peg and hanger and run both. Passengers have a hard time on the moved back one.

could you elaborate a lil more on the extra peg and hanger?? i think im gonna install it this week....... any regular passenger peg would do??? i might consider getting it welded on or just use a bicycle passenger peg since those are round.

Re: foot in back seat?

Left leg on the saddle feels no good to me, Because the bike is not behind my legs and feels loose. Using the rear peg is better, because bike is still between the legs.->more control and safer.

On some bikes the rear peg may fold up, make sure you don't slip your feet if the peg is wet, you gonna go down..

You are putting too much pressure on your brake foot. Try to put a little weight onthe trunk foot or lean a littel more to the left whwn you clutch it up.

Just get another one and figure out where looks best, drill 2 holes, and bolt it on. You can use pretty much any of them since you are drilling new holes. Don't weld it. If it bends or sticks in your leg when you fall you won't like it. Also don't go the bicycle peg route either.

Re: foot in back seat?

learning a "killroy" is hard @ first. Remeber, slow wheelies are all about the launch!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Get a clean launch and you're set, once its up, you can distribute your weight however you want. Try a 2 mph flamingo.. or look @ Kyles avitar, you think he's over 10mph on that one?? Right. Try maybe 2-5 mph. Side to side is a bitch @ slow speeds.
