Help with ape hangers...
Help with ape hangers...
Hey, got my slow stuff down. 12's, one-handers and stuff like that, I really wanna start doing ape hangers though. Anyone got any advise?? I've seen where guys get rocked in the crotch by the bike and I'm not too fond of that happening. Any help would be appreciated.
Re: Help with ape hangers...
wont happen as long as the bike dont stall. if u hear it start to spudder like its gunna stall just get back up. i would prolly turn my idle to like 2500 for those too just to make sure it stays running
Re: Help with ape hangers...
put in on the bar straight and smooth...then let go and drag behind it, get back on and tap the rear brake.
old school way: come in fast and pull the clutch in, drag behind the bike and get back on before the speed slows you down, tap the brake, ride away in a wheelie
the new school way (this is sooooooooooo effing boring to watch and is easy as hell): put in on the bar veeery slow and then (with your idle up) let the clutch and and let the idle ddrag you at 2.2 mph...then get back on the bike and follow the above steps.
the 2nd way is waay easier to learn and is also way less entertaining or difficult. the original way is harder and def takes more skill and *****....
if you do the idle way in comps, i laugh bc i can teach a monkey to do it....with speed is much harder.

Yea, probably try the easier way first then go to no idle shiat.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Help with ape hangers...
idling an ape hanger is definitly easier to learn, but after watching a video we shot, i went out the next day and tried 'em wit a little more speed. 2 pairs of pants later, it is obvious that it looks alot better when doin' 'em wit a little more speed. think it's the natural slo mo effect it has when u watch it
