Honda Help!

i have a 1997 F3 and on the way home from the spot on sunday it just died on me electrically. i was able to get it started after a few minutes and ride it for a few more miles but as i was down shifting approaching a light from 4th it died and i have not been able to get it to start again.

when i turn the key the lights start up but dim quickly and it just clicks as i hit the starter.

anyone have any ideas on what it could be or than the battery? i am an electical retard and would like to avoid taking it in to the dealership if possible so any help is appreciated.

p.s. and if this thread was started before i am sorry i tried to search for it and couldn't find it. sorry

Re: Honda Help!

Before you check anything else test the battery, I know it sounds silly but it's very common.

yea, check the battery, if the light comes on, then dims and shuts off, and the battery clicks when you go to turn it, its most likely the battery... almost definately the battery, if for some reason its not, check the fuse under the seat, its a 30, make sure you check the actual fuse, there is a spare under there, and i checked that one one time and got all frustrated...

Re: Honda Help!

Might want to check your Regulator/Rectifier if you decide to get a new battery... my F2 had similar probs, got a new battery and it died in a week... the R/R was fried so nothing was getting charged. Just my

Cheers!

Where is this fuse located. I've got the seat off and the battery out charging right now but i cant seem to find where the fuse is. I checked all the ones in the fuse box and their fine but i dont see any fuse under the seat.
