2nd gear bounce up and at higher gears...

need help on how to bounce up a wheelie in second gear. my first gears are down.(i think) while i try to bounce it up in second itll only get up about a foot or so and itll slam back down. i can shift a wheelie from first through third. i suck at clutchin them up. any advice on second gear bounce up on a stock gixxer6 will be appreciated.

all my clutch practice sucks. all itll do is jerk the bike. wont come at all. i can bounce it up at 3000 in first and ride it for a while. while back when learnin to wheelie a friend of mine rode my bike and said it was eaiser to bounce it up in second.

Re: 2nd gear bounce up and at higher gears...

Then you and your friend both need to get better at clutching

Power wheelies are ghey

My bro can clutch sit down's on a stock geared F4I in 2nd easy and sits are tougher to get up than standers. Plus F4I's are probably the least powerful of the 6's. Clutching is the way to go bro. Keep practicing and learn it.

I used to bounce my 2nd gear wheelies too and after spending 1 day really trying the clutch everything comes up off the clutch. No bounce, no power wheelies

It's like an intervention, you'll thank us for the tough love later when you are clutching 2nd gear wheelies from 10 MPH and rocking them forever :YEAH

Just clutch it, I wish my GSX-R600 had enough power to clutch second without bouncing the hell out of it too.

There is nothing wrong with bouncing and powering the bike up.. as long as the rear brake is covered and you know and respect the throttle.

Re: 2nd gear bounce up and at higher gears...

Personally I don't like power wheelies one bit, when it comes up it's violent. I was bouncing and clutching my 954 today and it just came up way too fast, on the 600 in second it took all my concentration to get a perfect bounce and clutch the hell out of it and it still came up slow but the 954 comes up too hard.

I'm gonna see if I can clutch it with one foot on the rear peg as it feels jerky when I try to do it standing on the front pegs.

Re: 2nd gear bounce up and at higher gears...

I didn't bounce it I bounced and clutched and I couldn't get it high enough to keep it from dropping when I let off the throttle a little bit. My 954 definitely has enough power to come up in second as I've already done it bouncing and clutching, I guess I just need to get used to the feeling.

First gear power wheelies suck though.
