I have an 01 r6 (02 engine) with just stage 1 jet and yoshi full pipe. Something I noticed my bike doing yeterday is especially in 5th and 6th gear once i hit like 12.5 rpms it wil jump istantly to redline with a surge of power and then fall back and climb normally. Its feels just like Im blipping the clutch, but Im not. I have no idea why. Any Ideas??????????? Is the tranny slipping???

 

While accelerating with the throttle wide open does it happen in any gear?

So far it sounds like your clutch is starting to slip. It'll happen during full throttle acceleration the easiest so that's what it sounds like. You don't want it too happen more than you need it to cause if that's what's wrong you can still get away with not replacing the metal plates. If you fry the metal plates your cost usually doubles for parts.

Better get it fixed sooner than later.

 

I havenent noticed in lower gears. but deffinately in top gears while throttle is open. Yeah thats what i was thinking. (it feels/acts like i slip the clutch bu not even touching it). I guess its time for some tuning/repairs.
