take off the tank. disconnect the hose from the crank-case to the air box, get rid of whole contraption, including that little black can. take a piece of tube that fits the crankcase vent and slide it on. drill out the cap of a water bottle, stuff the hose in and seal with glue of some sort. put the water bottle behind the heal gaurd on the left rearset, zipty in place. drill out one or two more holes as vents in the top of the bottle. now wen u r on the bar your bottle will just fill up instead of filling up your airbox!

 

will that also prevent the engine oil from filling up in the cylinders?
i have had problems with scrapeing 12's for to long and the motor will shut off and become hydro locked.

its a 2000 and the reason that ur cylinders fillup with oil is becuz the oil goes in the airbox, down thru the carbs, and into the cylinders

and ill try and post some pics this weekend

yah it points up , when its full u empty it, and if it spills it spills very lil.

 

that was me at my buddy's house, it will spew out a lil oil onto like the subframe if it gets too full. i have only had the setup for one day now and havent emptied my bottle yet. still tryin to figure out how-to do it cuz my cap got glued shut.

 

how 'bout an exit hose? when the oil reaches the top it just spills out the exit hose. you can zip tie it pointing down. just my

 

I don't have an r6, so i don't know what i'm talking about. With that said, couldn't you have the bottle upside down and seal the opening so that oil flows back into the case?

nope cuz then it wouldnt vent. if you could that then i would just epoxy the hose closed and be dont with it. the whole purpose the crankcase vent is to allow excess pressure from high rpm's, heat, ect. to be released instead of trapping it in the cases.

 

There has to be a way you can have a catch can like that and still have it let the oil back in the crankcase. You should be able to run a long hose from the breather up high and to the front with a K&N breather filter. That way it's high and far enough forward that it doesn't leak and still let's the crankcase breath.

Yep most bikes benefit from catch can. I have one on my TL1000S. Problem is that it is in the tail, so long standup make it fill over and the vacuum line from the top of the catch can is connected to airbox, so it blows oil there( i tested also little K&N, but tail is full of oil then). i also have return line to the crank case, it usually works if the wheelies/abuse is not too long. I'm using catch can made by honda.(from NX650/XR650), well it didn't work well on honda, so I removed it from there, and installed big tube that goes high up to the front and then comes back down. Worked remarkable well. Better then honda box.

Well now the honda box is in my TL and looks like it works in normal ****, but not extended wheelies (at least when there is lot of oil in the engine.) I think I need to mount it somewhere at the front of the bike. The tube needs to be big, so blowby cannot push the oil forward in the tube..Bigger the better.

hey need sume help here I have a 03 R6 and I statred working on my 12s got acouply up real good then finaly hit the bar about 3 time sin a row got happy turned of the bike sat their a smoked next thing I now oil leaking out or the under beelie pan and it wont start any idea on what is wrong

 

Will also keep the oil from staying in your motor!!!!

 

just dont do 2 many bar tricks. or just unscrew the bottle and dump it back in!

 

The way i did mine was gr8. No bottle,no b.s. Just do it like a honda and do all the bar trix u want untill u run out of gas or the sorry a$$ carbs flood out.
