help finding a bike

i started rinding bmx and then moved to dirtbikes and quads. on my dirtbike and quad i did alot of wheelies and other tricks and i'm very confortable on a bike. i have rode street bikes before and now i'm ready to buy one. i plan to stunt ride the bike and just need help picking which bike to start with. my dirtbikes and quads were all yamahas because i have a local dealer close by with a parts counter so it was quick and easy to get parts when i broke down. so i'm kinda loyal to yamaha i probably want a 600 for light weight and handling. someone told me guys stunt honda 929s alot. what bike would be best for me to start with. thanks

Re: help finding a bike

i would suggest going to a suzuki dealer and gettin a 600 or 750, not nessisarly a 2004 or 05 but like an 02 or 03, if thats not what ur lookin for go with an r6, but the thing i dont like about them is that the r6 has an extremely touchy throttle, it can prolly be fixed to how u wanted it tho :YEAH

have an 04 R6... awesome bike for twisties, damn fun to ride around. wheelies like a charm... but just like they said... throttle is touchy as hell. personally I'd go with an old gixxer and gear it up and cage it and all that if you know you're gonna stunt it. Why not protect it before it needs it. You can usually find them fairly cheep... plus they look

i have an 00 r6 that i love stunting, it wheelies great and is light, the throttle is a lil twitchy but they all are. the only thing is yamaha 600's have weak 2nd gears. i would get an f4i, they are tough as hell

Re: help finding a bike

Everyone here is totally right, I blew everyone off a couple years ago when i switched from a Buell to a 954. Everyone told me then to get a 600 or a 750 but at the time all I wanted was more power. More power more wheelies right,,,WRONG. the problem with liter bikes IS the power. Your throttle hand has to be damn good, therefore I'm now at 19,500 miles and still haven't mastered wheelies yet. That's the reason for getting a 600 or a 750. they really are almost just as fast but you can be more loose with the throttle and concentrate on other things rather than fearing looping all the time. If you get a 600 or a 750 you will learn a lot faster. Just so you know I used to ride dirt too and the streetbike is a whole different animal especially inline fours. They have tons of benifits but need more attention while on them. Good luck.
