iv ben trying to fix my 02 ninja 250 beacuse my freind rode it and melted a valve and a plug in it. So i orderd all the bs to fix it and after i was done the bike either idles at 4 thosand rpm or nothing i meen if i idle it lower than4 it will die and is a bitch to start. i hooked a set of gages to the carbs and it said valve timing was off so i advanced it 1 tooth and the valves hit the piston. any advise on htis problem,anyone els ever had this problem?-

 

you obviously didnt put it together right if you got valves smacking a piston.make sure your flywheel is at the right point before you put your cam chain on. then make sure your cam is sitting just right or else youll have problems. having the chain moved by only 1 pin, wont run right. make sure you got a service manual, go back and double check your work
