my ZX7R ticks sometimes when i start it up..after 1000 wheelies haha but for some reason the ticking stops when i pull my front brake in? i dunno but i hasnt gotten worse over the months so i just deal with it

My '01 Gixxer ticks like a bitch for about 10 seconds after the first start of the day. Just the engine waking up bro...bike runs like a champ.
Re: my r6 makes a loud ticking sound when it is not warmed up ????
valve clearence might need to be adjusted or you might need a new chain tensioner, either way its pretty easy and cheap...

I had the same ticking nosie in my 99 R6 I brought it to yamaha and they told me it was the valves and that they didnt need adj. its just how most of them run. Hopefully Im not about rdy to drop a bearing
Re: my r6 makes a loud ticking sound when it is not warmed up ????
Mine started to do that when I started to wheelie it and run the revs real high. The I cartwheeled it down the road.... so I'm not so much worried about the ticking as I am the "makin that **** ridable again" part. Good luck... perhaps I will check mine anyway.. hell it's already in pieces, how convenient!

Valve Height Adjustment. Its a pain in the *** if you dont know what your doing. I had my **** put back together and taken a part 3 times before I got it right. and now its doing it again
Inexpensive to fix if that is what it is though. Thread
