Quick question - Spreaders
04 Gixxer - Spreaders
Here's the deal... I ride an 04 Gixxer 600 w/ stock gearing. I just started doing spreaders the other night. I'm currently doing them in first because that's the only gear that feels like it has the torque to pull them up.
I ride up to 30-35 in first and climb up on the tank, roll the throttle on a little bit, chop it, then slip the clutch while hammering the throttle. They come up what feels like 1' to 1-1/2'.
I'm considering going up a couple teeth on the back, but nothing too big. I would rather work on my timing more if I can get them higher w/ more practice.
Is anyone out there doing them high w/ stock gearing?? What about 2nd gear?? I'm really just looking for a little more input or ideas. Any help is appreciated!

Re: 04 Gixxer - Spreaders
I have an '01, not stock anymore, but when it was...2nd gear, going about 40, hop on tank, pull clutch, rev the bike up high for about a count of 2-3, drop the clutch.
Make sure you arent going to slide off though, that would ruin your whole damn month.

Re: Quick question - Spreaders
I went out riding last night and found I really don't need to do anything w/ the bike. More practice made a huge difference. I just kept making passes up and down the road doing spreaders and I'm able to pull up 75%+ now. I'm gonna have to keep practicing until I have them on lock.
