Exclamation newbie help???

hey guys, thanks for taking the time to read and reply...

1st bike, its a 90 katana 600 with 15k, real clean cosmetically, new tires and brakes, paid $1650 did i get raped?

prob 1- bike will not idle right, at lights or stops the idle goes low and dies. i raised the idle with the adjuster on the left side and helped a little but still dies. im a car guy and i thought about cleaning the carbs but where do i start?

prob 2- whiles riding there is a noise coming from the rear that sounds like a train chuggn along and the ride gets choppy almost like in a car when it starts bucking. is it the chain, a buddy was riding behind me and said it was bouncing all over.

i dont really know bikes but a friend of mine had the same exact problem with the idol. it ended up being a problem with the carb, one of the jets was clogged or dirty or somethin like that. so yea i would try cleaning the carb, check the oil, you know all the basic maintenince stuff. is it stock?

and yea the second prob is deff the chain and all you have to do there is tighten the chain, and i would lube it up too

there is adjusters on the swing arm. loosen the rear axle. and move it back with the adjusters. make sure u moved it the same amount on both sides, theres dashes or something of the sort to show where each side is at. tighten til there is about an inch or so of play in the chain.
