mindset help!!!!

Ok heres the deal. I got a 2000 R1. (welded subframe). unfortunately after selling my 900 this is th eonly bike I have to stunt on.

As of right now I can clutch wheelies in 2nd and 3rd at high speeds.

The slowest i can clutch up second is about 25-30mph but by the time I balance it out im like at 40.

Now here is my deal. Whenever i clutch first, Im well over 50mph before I reach the balance point (im chasing the wheelie until about 50 mph)

When learning the rear brake, should i have it already pressed when clutching first or just cover it and use it if needed?

My whole mindset is if i gas it too much in first and dont press the rear brake fast enough yall know what can happen.

Basically how should I go about learining the rear brake?

Im no pro...but. When you clutch it up, try clutching it up higher. Alot of times if i dont give it enough rev/clutch it wont come up as high, so to get it up, you end up powering it up, and in turn speeding up. As for the rear brake, Im not sure. Im a total amature to stunting...but through trying to learn I've found The best way to learn it is to bring it up to the bp, then tap the rear brake, just to get a feel for it. Clutch it up, bring it down with the brake, ect. Eventually you'll be able to get a feeling for it and be able to ride the brake softly while keeping it up with more throttle. Then hopefully it will become 2nd nature to use the rear. This wont be good on your rear pads, but oh well.

Ya, the big thing is just to clutch it up right to balance point. If you do the exact same thing every time, (eg. start out going at 3k rpm in first) watch your tach and see exactly where your engine speed is when you drop the clutch and how high you get. It's great when you know exactly what it takes to bring it up to balance point. Also, you don't need to drag the back brake when your at bp, engine braking is usually enough to keep you there.
