Re: mechanical question...

were the steel plates warped? If they were, that could be causing the problem. Also did you soak the clutches in oil prior to installing them? Just thought i'd ask.

Re: mechanical question...

1. Is there any play in the clutch cable? There should be a little bit, it shouldnt be tight.

2. By any chance, did you just switch to synthetic oil?

Maybe you need to adjust your clutch springs or replace them. I dont know much about yamahas, but sounds like its a spring issue to me...

Re: mechanical question...

Soaked them in oil, check. Regular oil. New plates and springs, check. New master clutch piece, check. I'm the biggest retard ever, I didn't get the pressure plate on right, that was my problem. Thanx for your advice though. , sorry

Re: mechanical question...

I'm going to replace my clutch next weekend. Any more pointers? I didn't know you had to soak them. Thanks!

If you are going to run the same metal plates make sure you reinstall them the exact way you took them off, or just make sure they will be spinning in the same direction that they were...
