12 Bars on Dirtbikes
12 Bars on Dirtbikes
I have a 2003 CR85 Expert and pretty much only ride it on pavement. I rarely go to the track and there isn't much besides pavement around here so I've gotten used to stunting it on back roads, parking lots and whatnot. I can wheelie it decently and want to get higher but I'm really afraid of mousetrapping. I think a 12 bar would help that so does anyone know of any kits made for it or would I have to make one myself? I guess I could do that if someone gave me directions and measurements.
EDIT: Oh yeah, I'm not really 26, I put 1977 instead of 1987 by mistake in for the birth year. Can I change that?

Re: 12 Bars on Dirtbikes
well a 12 bar isn't gonna help from moustrapping but it will help from messing up the bike in a loop. Course if you slam back to 12 you could likely bend your subframe and also probably throw you off. Isn't a cr two stroke? I shy away from two strokes, we used to try and stunt my old yz80. Would come up in any gear but there is no engine brake so you gotta be good with the rear brake.
Re: 12 Bars on Dirtbikes
Yeah it's 2 stroke. It does pull up pretty quick but I've learned to control it decently. I just want it to get it higher, like 12 o'clock but I guess mousetrap is the wrong word...looping is what I meant I think.
Re: 12 Bars on Dirtbikes
Well if you can control it than go for it. I'd say just try and fab a 12 bar up cause no one is gonna make one for a cr80 that i know of anyways. I had plenty of wheelies that I chased on the yz but anytime it got close to the bp bad things happened. I can wheelie anything 4 stroke ok but that damn two stroke sucked. I sprained my wrist and my friend tore his acl and mcl trying. But if ya can do it rock it cause stunting a two stroke takes
