i guess i'll try -1 +2. i would just leave it stock but i am tryin to avoid usin 2nd gear for spreaders, high chairs, ect. cuz i understand 2nd gear on r6's are not the most durable thing

No, they aren't. My boys just went out, and it's like a thousand to fix it. He went down 2 and up 5 on his and had to get a new chain. Good luck bro

I dunno if you can add links but you might as well just replace it cause you'd have to rape the chain and take everything apart, chains have to be replaced in regular maintenence anyway.

Dont go down in the front, it makes your bike more torqy and it will also eat up your chain. Run all your gear in the rear, it gives your bike a more smoother power delivery. The small amount you are wanting to change isnt really worth all the headach and money. Wait till u get money and do a whole new 525 conversion kit with stock front and +14 on the rear. If first gears to torqy for you then go to second to try stuff. This way you really never need another gear change...

I'm going -1 in the front because I have 40 dollars burning a hole in my wallet and no job, if I could get a job I'd get another 525 chain and go +14 in the rear.
