if you know a welder with some scrap metal, that would actually save you the time and money.
doesn't really need to be perfect. if you can, if there is another bar that someone has on around you. just make the angle about the same. cut some metal. gotta drill holes into your sub frame. I use only 4 holes. then bolt it up. You can stand the bike straight up and down and test it once its on there.
find a shop somewhere that can weld and cut metal. then you'll be set.
better than some $125.00

use 3 peices of steel flat bar. 3/16" or 1/4" thick is more than enough, and 2" wide would do. Bolt on 2 lengths to either side fo the subframe, then mitre cut the ends to your desired angle. Then weld on a length between the two bars for your scrape surface. Really easy, and will use less than $5 in material. You just need someone that can weld.
When I got my racing905 ba rin the mail, I felt like an idiot. They are very well made, and engineered for you bike, but I'd rather save $90 and make my own.

Whats the best way to figure how far out the bar should be? Should be even with the rear tire or in a little? Re: R6 12 Bar Builders?
My friend bought a 905 12 bar too. It is ok but for the price savings I would rather build it myself and spend the money elsewhere. The 12 bars are easy to make if you have any mechanical skills. We will be buying a tubing bender to start making our own cages too. It doesnt have to look perfect if its going to get fooked up anyhow. If its for a show buy the high dollar ones.
