Wash'n Bikes

for all you guys that don't let your bike see the rain, how do you wash it? do you just use the spray stuff or do you wet it down and wash it like a car?

Re: Wash'n Bikes

I use one of those wash mitts. I soak the mitt in a bucket of hot water and Meguiars NXT Gen car wash soap. I wip the bike down with the wet mitt, dump out the soapy water, fill it with clean water...rinse the mitt and wip down bike until water run off is free of suds and clear. Then I dry with a dry towel and put 3 coats of wax.

Re: Wash'n Bikes

I used to wash mine when it was new then i started stuntin and guess i kinda forgot about washin it lol. Now the only part of my bike that see's wax is the chain! But ya just wash it like a car wth a mitt or something then polish the wheels and whatever you may have polished on it with mothers or something.
If you wax the whole bike make sure you try some tank wheelies they should be fun,

Re: Wash'n Bikes

I washed mine like, every other day when I first got it, and waxed it twice a week, but I've passed through that phase, I wash it about every two weeks or so now and wax it.

Question for everyone though. When I got the bike it had these little black spots all over the rear rime, but only on the inner part or the rim which has a more bumpy texture, not the part that's smooth, but I haven't been able to get the suckers off. I can get everything off and the rims looking beautiful except for the stupid black spots, I think it might be chain lube from the previous owner, but nothing will take them off, I've tried everything I can find, Mothers Polish doesn't even do anything.
Anyone else have anything like this?

One time a bird crapped in my helmet when I left it hanging off my mirror ..............
I don't exactly wash my bike, just give it a good wipe down every once in a while.

Re: Wash'n Bikes

My ***** all busted up from the sidestand collapsing and falling over. I guess I don't care that much, I ride my **** pretty much every day. I take a lot of time to clean my DID 525 gold chain then just spray the rest of the bike down with a hose, wipe it off, lube the chain and call it a day.

Once I get another bike I'll was and wax and all that ****.
