Re: F2/F3 rims

I know my 98 f3 has a 5.0" rear wheel and I believe that older f2's had a 4.5" rear. F4i's have 5.5" rear.

Re: F2/F3 rims

LOL yeah i knew 4.5 wasn't right. Here this is from cbrworld.net

You will notice below the 91-94 has a 4.50 rear and the 95-98 has a 5.00, then 99 is 5.50.
even tho it say the 5.0 take a 160 look at it this way. 4.50 takes a 160....5.50 takes a 180, I put on a 170 on the 5.0....and also if I wanted to go back to 160 I still can....

Re: F2/F3 rims

fyi, a 180 will fit but the wheel will pinch the tire, thus making it taller than its supposed to be, thus effecting handling.... a 170 is ideal

Ditto what he said about the 180. I tried one on an f3 rim and had about half a milimeter of clearance to the swingarm. If you really want a wider contact patch, get an f3 rim. The extra half inch of width makes a noticeable difference when your running low pressure. Also, buy a tire with a touring profile.
