how many is a couple? 2? you can go up like 2 in the rear or go pretty extreme and go 1 down in the front and 2 up in the rear... it will equal 4.5 up in the rear.. u would be able to do high chairs with that gearing.. what are you trying to do?

Re: changing sprockets??????

why do you want clutchless? depends if your chain is old and stretched. if its old and not oiled regularly and making alotta noise then replace the chain. Learn to clutch and u shouldnt have to even get new sprockets. but if you need to power up wheelies then go up probalby 2 or 3 teeth.

If i were you i would go with a 525 conversion kit, stock teeth front sprocket and a +14 rear sprocket and chain. never go down on the front sprocket cuz it gives the chain a bad angle to go around, this will kill your chain, it also eats up your chain guides on the swingarm, but most important of all it makes your bike more torqy, and u dont need that on slow stuff. Running all your gear in the rear makes your power delivery more smoother, due to leverage(etc). talk to phil at moto-heaven.com , he has the hookup on all your gearing needs...

Re: changing sprockets??????

the only reason you would need to change your chain size is if it didn't fit when you geared your bike. gear however you want. dunno where the cutoff point is, but if you go up 2 or 3 you shouldn't have to change your chain at all.

Its different for every bike. But there are ratio charts out there that compare gearing, torque, horse power, etc.

i'm -1 + 6 on my 6r, and can still go about 140mph.
i'm -1 + 10 on my 900rr, and can still go around the same. little less.

all personal prefference.. listen to gsxrMike :YEAH

Maybe they should go up 2 in the front and -10 in the back if speed is the key...

Re: changing sprockets??????

They make gearing calculators that you enter your ratios from your owners manual and then put in your tire size and gearing and it will tell you your max speed in each gear. Anyone on here have a link to it?

maybe you shouldn't listen to GsxrMike.. +2 -10 sounds like a pretty rough gearing if you ask me..

Thats what they need to run if there concern is going fast, if they have one doubt about loosing top speed for stunting just hang it up. With +2 -10 they will be able to go over 200 mph for sure lol....
