5,000 Idle
I recently set up my bike for slow stuff. I layed it down 3 times when I hit the 12 bar wrong. I decided to take a brake until my crash cage gets here, and it should be here any day now. I decided to just work on the slow stuff and forget about scraping for a while. I am able to bring the bike straight up smoothly (maybe 2 inches from scraping) then softly bring it back down to earth. I've talked with a bunch of guys that have told me to raise my idle from 1,500 to 5,000. I'm anxious to try it, I know I have real smooth break control, but I am worried about the bike tipping to the side, and when this happens, will the rear brake bring it down as sufficiently as the engine, or should I just bail and hope that nothing gets too F-ed up? I know that my reactions will just kick in, and none of this will actually stay in my head at that moment, but I'de like to have a better idea of what I'm getting myself into before I start doing it.
