heya,
I am hearing a ping from what sounds like the gas tank whenever I let out the clutch from first......sometimes its one time....other times its 3-4 times.......I cant figurewhat it might be.....aside fromthat the bike is fine............any hints?\

check the four subframe bolts, the base of the tank is bolted to thr sub. Stand behind the bike and pull up on the tail unit/12 bar, if there's movement, then your tank is taking a load when your bodyweight pushes down on the subframe. These bolts come loose on my 900 quite often.

 

THANKS!!!!!!!! all 4 were loose.......fixed the problem and am back to working on getting 2nd up all the way.........
