Arms...Locked or Unlocked?

Finally gettting the hang of sitdowns on my fiddy and GSXR 750 (both in 2nd gear). I find that if I lock my arms out and lean back a bit on both the fiddy and the gixxer that it is much easier to control the bike with my body.....does this sound right and am I supposed to be locking my arms out like that?? any response and/or picture would be great......

are you clutching it up in second? and i was always told to leave a slight bend in the arms, almost locked out, but not quite there. i was also told to get used to the feeling of the wheelies before leaning back, but yeah i feel like i have much more control leaned back.............and you dont look so scared

TEACH C6 will become famous soon enough
Re: Arms...Locked or Unlocked?

don't lock your arms, use your arms, shoulders, and knees to steer...arms should be locked on stoppies, for just about everything else, try and stay loose and fluid with teh motorbike....

Go ahead and order wheelies from dummies from Matt Gorka... That sh-t will break everything like that down for you. They show you body position and input way better than just reading it.

Already saw the video.....I guess it just varies from person to person.....but on da fiddy they are almost locked and on my gixxer they are bent slightly to adapt to the bike....I just wondered how everyone else is doing them.....

Once I get up there I just kinda get comfortable and stick with whatever gives me the best feedback with the bike. Sometimes I'm leaned slightly back with arms semi-locked... other times I'm right against the tank looking straight over the bike with my arms bent.
