ok i think i am gonna go out and *** up my bike very soon i may cry when i do it but i just cant stop myself i got a 98 gixxer 750 stock i no i no all you guys are rocking new bikes but i still owe like 6500$ canadian on it so with that being said...i wanna start learning slow weelies maybe even 12s well not 12 cause i dont wanna mess my tail but i do lots of stuff i dont wanna everyday.....here is my plan gonna drop my rear tire pressure to 25<<<----------"is that still safe for my rim when doing stoppies i am still slamming them down pretty hard" lol but there getting smother. well this is how i am planning on doing it i can bounce my bike up in 1st at around 40klm with my rear left foot on the back peg. right covering my brake bouncing that **** stright up to bp and trying to slow it down...
anyone have any advice b4 i do this besides crash cage or 12 bar
and oh yeh i read everthing seem everone starts learning this buy cluching it up i havent seen anyone ask about this method.. so what do you all think?
i would love to here some feedback...
and i have bin trying this for a long time now with stock psi but,buy the time i get the wobble out i am going kinda fast i think lowering the pis should help wanna find out if this is a bad idea for my back rim first though you no learning stoppies still and i no but i should learn one trick then move on but it would be nice to be trying a few at the same time should make practice more intresting..

i think you should be fine ive done stoppies with 10 but i tried not to set them down hard but you should be fine just let go of the brake before you stop and it wont smash down

Well...heres my
. You Are going to DESTROY your bike if you start to "stunt" it. THere is no way around it.....you will drop it over and over again, and eventually it will be completely destroyed. Trust me on this.
If it is in perfect condition, sell it. Buy yourself a beater bike for half the price and stunt that one. I wasted $10,400 on my first GSXR 1000. I payed about $3000 for my second one and thats what I rock now.
Ok....now that thats out of the way.......
You will only damage your rim if you allow the stoppie to get really out of shape....and even then, you shouldnt damage it with that much air pressure. 25psi is alot.
If your going to learn 12's, lower the pressure somewhere in the mid-teens. 14-16 works good. This will help keep the bike from swaying from side to side while you learn brake control. Then when you are getting good at them, raise the pressure back up to about 20. Learn to clutch it up, or you will be going too fast right from the beginning.
PS....if your gonna do stoppies.....slow or fast ones especially, BUY A STEERING DAMPER. If you plan on doing a stoppie more than about 20' you definately want to have one. That bike will tank slap and buck you off before you even know what is going on. Again, trust me on this one.....
Good luck , Mellen

i agree 100%....
no matter how hard you try to keep the bike nice... hard stunting still beats the **** out of our bikes... but i wouldnt have it any other way!
Racing 905 cages, best thing that has ever happened to our sport!
