'03 Gixxer Idle
Re: '03 Gixxer Idle
Just take the rider seat off, undo the 2 screws that hold the tank on up front, rotate the tank up, and you will see the throttle body/idle adjustment on the left hand side of the engine. The larger of the 2 screws is the idle screw. Just turn it until you get the idle to where you want it.

also there's a wire adjustment right by the throttle grip, where the wire feeds into the handle.... there's a plastic screw about the size of a quarter and another that is little, but about an inch long, that's the one you want to turn. i wish i had a digital camera w/ me so i could show you. but watch out, there's two wires, ones for the throttle the other's for the brake.

And you still have full throttle contol just like the other way, as well as slack in the cable. plus it takes 2 seconds to turn it back down to normal, so you're not always on a high idle. But either way, it's the same. Once the bike is in gear when the idle is up, it all engages the same w/ the motor/idle, just there is a bit of throttle tightness my way, but that WILL NOT effect you at all. it's all the same, trust me. Re: '03 Gixxer Idle
on a carbureted bike the choke is a plate that closes the throat of the carburetor to create a stronger vacuum and pull more fuel through the carb. A fast idle is just that, a lever that increases idle speed
