Hey guys, I have been looking at a 04 gsxR 600. Im pretty sure im gonna get this bike! I was just wondering if they come with steering stabilizers(Dampers)?
Cause Im pretty sure im gonna stunt it also!!!!, My buddy has a 04 750 and my other friend has an 04 600 and they said it comes factory and that there is no need to purchase one!
So lets have it guys, i dont want any tank slappers at 90mph! If i do need one what are some of the best brands to get?

Stock ones generally suck...I prefer Scotts or GPR, but the ohlins and hyperpro shock style work too

 

I'd suggest you get the 750 man, you'll find out why when you get it if you do, I think the stock ones do help some, but I'd definetly get an aftermarket one if I had the money.

 

yup, you can also take off the stocker and replace the oil in the damper with a heavier weight oil until you have the cash for a good one.

 

get a 750!!!!! its not to big where you cant ride it and its big enough that you wont get bored after 2 months. and get a dif damper if you can

600s are cool, but i got bored with mine. the 750 has more power and its only $1000 more. you can stunt any bike good, its all on you.

 

I'm kinda bored with my 600 right now, especially in this high altitude.

I'm thinking of changing the sprockets but that would run me around 400 dollars with a speedo healer and I don't have any money.

 

WTF i hope yer dealers using lube cuz that's str8 rape. chain & sprox generally run 150-200 a set (both sprox & chain) and a speedo healer is 80 bux. if you really need more pull, alot of folks say just change yer front (-1). F a speedo healer, find a cool cop and have him radar ya when he's not busy, it's gonna read high so yer safe. only (real) prob with a whacked speedo is BS mileage piling up (bad for re-sale).

as for the gixxer damper, mines stock with stock oil and it's saved my butt B4. accidentally clutched one up shiftin from 1st to 2nd while changing lanes. got a wicked "chirp" when i landed crooked, but no slapper. and it's stable as can be at high speed.

 

I haven't seen speedo healers go for less than 200 dollars, which is why I said around 400 including shipping...
