hey i did wut u guys told me to and may 24 2004 i totaled my bike..i was doina bout 60 and i dont know i was holding on to the bike and well didnt work and i ended up in hospital up till today.so yea

i skitch on the side and the faster i go the easier it is... should have learned goin like 20 thats what i did.. i do it going 100 now...

 

so how do u skitch on the side doing 20? im not sure i know to get into position? at 20 mph ill be in n out of the hospital in a day.

It's just the same as skitching at any higher of a speed, same method, just requires a bit more balance.

Although, I did have a buddy try to skitch at 25-30 and lost the bike, it jumped a curb, dented the front rim and trashed the tank.

 

Damn kid, sorry to hear that. Never try stunting until you can handle the bike as easily as a bicycle. When it feels slow to you, and even feels much lighter, that's about when you start playing around. Sounds like you didn't have much exp. before trying that.

 

the first time i just went about 20 hung off and just came to a stop cuz i couldnt get back on and i felt how the bike moves when im on the side. then i started going faster and faster till i could do it doing 100. but yea it is harder going slower but on my first day i learned to turn corners while skitchin.... whatever works for u...

 

I started off the side at about 30. Slower than that and it was harder to keep the bike going straight.

I'd just like to point out in reference to the MTV thread that this is the reason MTV exposure is bad. Think. A reporter would have a field day with this kid.

 

If you've only ridden for a month, you might give some heavy consideration to actually mastering just controlling the bike before you stunt. Believe me, a first gear clutch wheelie will surprise the hell out of you, and you'll likely crash without knowing what's happening. Take it slow man, no rush. I rode dirtbikes for about 10 years before ever getting on a street bike, and I rode almost a year before trying to stunt. And I still crashed. Hard. Just be careful and take it slow man. when first trying to skitch you should go off the left side of the bike ( clutch side) take your right foot and bring it over the bike behind your left foot , now lean your chest on the tank and try and keep all your weight over the tank! now take your left foot off and gently bring them to the ground( your ribs & chest should be holding all your weight @ first) square off with the bike. when you get to the right comfrt levels try putting more weight on the ground our steping off the other side. to get back on reverse the same steps start with the left foot step back on then swing your right back around.

always try somthing new in a safe place with plenty of space keep it real!

 

I did it on my fiddy 1st . Get one. it's better to spend $1600 & trashing that to learn stunts. But learn to ride 1st...The bicycle reference is the best way to put it! gonna now. Be safe

 

I want a pocket bike. I'd paint it like my Gixxer, do a wheelie past some neighbors, park the Gixxer, grab the pocket bike, and wheelie past them on that. LMAO, they'd think they were halucinating.
