929 gearing
929 gearing
Okay, so I think im gonna go with a 00 or 01 929RR as my next bike. I know a LOT of you stunt them, so I wanna know, what would the top end be roughly with a stock front and + ten in the rear? And would this make it wheelie easier for slow stuff? If not plus ten, then what are most of you running? Remember that I'm a BIIIIIIG guy and it takes a LOT for a bike to heft me. But I gotta ride TONS of freeway **** and so I cant be topping out at 90!
Re: 929 gearing
I had mine -2 in the front, which works out to somewhere around +10 in the rear. My top (confirmed via gps) was just shy of 140. I'm 6'4", 250 and that gearing will bring the bike up on power in 2nd and 3rd easy on the highway.
Re: 929 gearing
keep stock gears. +10 is not good at all for highway. I am 250lbs and had stock gears and could wheelie it slow fine just learn how to clutch it properly. I have gears now(-1,+10) and the highway sux. Stock I had it read 168 but I dont know how fast it is now.
Re: 929 gearing
I'm up 10 on a 929 and it works real good. I think it does like 140 or maybe even a little faster. Speedo pegs at 181 though so that's kinda cool.
yeah bro it will wheelie just fine even with a sasquatch on it.
I can 12 mine without the clutch so it's plenty...
