Noises

Popped the front up as normal. Heard a noise near my rear sprocket. Felt the chain grip. Did it twice and same thing both times. Never heard it before or felt it. Feels like there is a little gap between the chain and the sprocket.

Think I may have a loose chain. Would this be right?

Re: Noises

Okay
did the bike jolt when you slipped the clutch?
do you clutchless shift?
what gear where you in?
and were on the gas when it happened?

well why dont you look at it and see if its loose? woulda been a lot faster than asking here. should have about an inch of play or less. dont get too tight though

Re: Noises

Tahdah. Turned out it was a loose chain. Tightened it and it's fine.

I did take a look at the chain before it was tightened and it was a little loose.
I thought it may have been okay though. Turns out it wasn't. Sorry for the late reply. Thanks for the input Hurricane and Kungfu.

Was happening in 1st gear power wheelies. No clutch (Okay, I'm a *****!!) and hard on the gas.

I think I freaked a little. After getting a $3 spring replaced toward the front of the engine a couple of months back (lost 2nd, 5th and 6th gear on the highway) I was probably being paranoid. I don't like noises I don't understand.
