Mirrors - any kinds that wont brake off
i have gone through about 7 or 8 mirrors and i am getting tired of them braking off as soon as i put it on.
I need to have them on my bike, i take my girlfriend out alot and she rides behind me most of the time and i want to make sure she is ok. Or when i ride in groups and someone descides to go flying by me doing a wheelie i get a little bit of notice.
Is there mirrors i can just stick to the plastics or handle bars that won't break off as soon as i go down. i know most of you ride without them but any ideas would be great.
thanks
Keith

Re: Mirrors - any kinds that wont brake off
the only mirrors that won't break when you go down are the mirrors that aren't attached to your bike. you can fold them down and they'll still break. get used to it or keep them off.
plus, how do you not know she's ok? she's 6" from you holding on, if something is wrong with her, i'm sure she'll tell you, and if she falls off and you don't notice that....i'd be worried about a lot more than your gf...i kinda notice that she's sitting back there.
PS: i could never see anything in my 929 mirrors anyways, i just turn my head and look even when i had mirrors.

no no, not 6 inches, she is on her own bike, i taught her how to ride,
she rides a ninja 500ex and she just got her license, i like making sure noone is tail-gating her or that she went down or pulled over, which she does sometimes, just pulls over and i look back and holy **** she is a mile back giving me the finger wondering why i didnt stop with her or something!
and it is a pain in the neck to keep looking back ya know

try loosening them where they pivot. everytime you wheelie theyll move on you, but theyre more likely to fold over then snap off if they dont take a direct hit. avoid the ones with the plastic ball joint cuz they snap everytime

I've seen a bike get flipped 3 times (land on the tank once) and the mirror stayed in. It was a cheapo one with swivels that mounts on the end of the bar. Everytime the bike was dumped it would just twist or fold.

Damn, didn't think my mirrors were special, but apparently they rock. I have a near-stock 2001 Gixxer, and I've flipped a high chair endoe, and my brother lowsided it last friday....Both mirrors are scratched and scuffed to hell on the tops/sides, but they're still stuck on like champs.
