What should I do?

I have an '01 R6 with the "notorious" 2nd gear slippage problem, so I cant do any more wheelies in second. Lately, i've been doing all my wheelies in first but its so twitchy. The 2nd gear problem will cost about $1500 to fix, and i wont have that kind of money any time soon. Should I get gearing for it so i can do everything in 3rd, until i can get 2nd fixed? If so what size gearing?

$1500 to fix second gear???? You can get a good used tranny for way less than that. My buddy just got a good used tranny for his R6 for under $500

That $1500 is mostly labor. If you get a new tranny, the labor charges will be there too. Get the gearing for now. You're gonna have even more problems if you don't stop beating away at that rev limiter.
