Tire spinning while trying to wheelie. Help!

Whats up? Ive got an 01 gsxr 600. I have been trying to wheelie in first. I get the bike up to about 3000-3500 rpm and let the clutch out at like 9000. It comes up just fine but my friend told me that the tire is spinning and burning before the bike comes up. Is this normal or am I letting out the clutch at too high an rpm. I have new Pirelli diablos so I dont think its the tire. Or is it possible that I need to get a different sproket to wheelie at that low an rpm. Does anyone have this bike with a different sprocket. And lastly if I were to get a new sprocket like -2 +4 or -1 +2would i wheelie every time I hit the gas? If I were in second and rippin it would the bike just come up?

ride around for a while or do a quick burnout to warm up your tires before you ride, shouldnt have that problem

Exactly, you may be happy the tire is spinning instead of hooking up when you dump the clutch at 9000

lower your psi, don't drop the clutch so hard. if your tire is bad worn then get a new one.

you should ride the clutch out a little so it doesn't break the tire loose. also, warm the tire up by riding on it a bit or doing a small burnout.

I had the same problem. But if I lean back a little, it usually comes right up without burning out. You might want to try that.

I have the same bike, take it up to about 20mph, don't look at the revs just worry about being smooth with the clutch. It takes a while to get used to it but basically try to let the clutch out as smoothly as possible and if you give it enough gas the front wheel will come up a hell of a lot slower and will be more controllable.

Sometimes when I want to get up to balance point really quick I'll slip the clutch and it'll shoot right up but I prefer to have it come up slower most the time.
