what did you use to dent it Re: tank denting help
It might be too late but heres my
... Dent behind the cap, as in closer to the seat. If you dent after the cap, closer to the triple tree, then the cap might hit the airbox. If it hit the airbox your in trouble.
Oh yeah, btw.. i dented mine in by having 2 friends hold the bike and jumping up and down on it with my heels. Then I used a mini sledge hammer to work it out smooth. Chit came out pretty good too!

Re: tank denting help
here's my gsxr w/ surfboard grip.... didnt really have to dent it but it dented on its own anyways.....
this is my current bike.... the f4i..... i seriously had to dent it before i could start doing hc stoppies again cause it was jsut too unconfertable for me....... now its perfect...... i was thinking of putting surfboard grip again but i dont think its a requirement anymore.... my *** feels nice and settled
and yeah no leaks........ f4i tanks are hard as hell though..... i just grabbed a shirt over the tank and started strategically Slamming my tank w/ a rubber mallet.

I stomped on mine with my heel to ge tthe initial dent. Then I took a hockey puck and hammer to get the ridge around the edge. The gas cap didn't bust.
I had my tank off last night - It was full of gas, so I turned it upside down - no leaks!!!
