Question 02 Ninja 500 wheelie?

I'm 16. Been riding a long time. But I don't really have any stunt skills just straight riding. Is it even possible to wheelie a stock Ninja 500? Can you thoroughly explain that whole bounce wheelie thing? I don't really understand it and I'd rather wheelie the harder way than screw up the bike poppin the clutch.

My buddy has the same bike and he kinda wheelies it. It's a bit of a goofball, but he can do it.

Re: 02 Ninja 500 wheelie?

I've got an '04 ninja 500 with a full muzzy system, jetted, k&n. I used to mess around with power wheelies (sit down) and they got a couple feet off the ground. You can't balance a wheelie on a ninja 500 without clutchin it up. Go about 15-20mph in 1st gear, pull in the clutch with your index and middle finger, rev to about 8,000, let it out.-one quick motion. It should come up to the balance point. If not, rev higher and stay on the gas. BTW there is a ninja 500 forum at speeding.to/ex500

Just clutch it!! It will be a whole lot easier. I'm pretty sure you'll be able to control a 500 just cover the rear brake.

Re: 02 Ninja 500 wheelie?

clutching it doesnt mess up the bike.. sure it puts more strain on the clutch, but its nothing major.. im sure youll sell or total the bike before you need a new clutch

My 17hp 1975 CB200 standard will wheelie for days.

You just have to know how to balance your weight.

Truer words haven't been spoken.

500's wheelie like hell in 1st gear and even second. Bounce and clutch in second starting out man, then learn how to ride em and shift. By the time you get a new bike you'll be all set.

Is your streetfighter a ninja 500? I think I recognize the name covertwar from the ex500 board.
