is this true?

I just got my bike out the shop and i asked the service guy how much would they charge to install a D&D slip-on that i bought from my girl's uncle (for $150) and he told me about $350! then he said i might as well change the carbs too and jet it because if i dont it will run like ****. if im not mistaken, my bike is not fuel injected so therefore it needs a power comander not a jet kit! but does any of this sound true or is he just trying to rip me off for a few dollars?

Re: is this true?

rip off! a slip on is 2 bolts and its off do it yourself. That is like someone charging you $200 for a oil change.

The most I could see is Like a 1 hour of labor minimum charge $60.

if your bike is fuel injected then you need a power commander, carbed a jet kit.

I would say find a new mechanic.

Re: is this true?

well if bike has carbs you need a jet kit. If it is fuel injected power comander. d&d some times need a jet kit or power comander. if your putting it on put it on and then ride see how it feels. if it back fires runs like crap jet it or power comand it. if you jet it find someone to do it unless you. are a experienced tech. if it is a cbr 600f3 i have a jet kit for sale 75.00.

Re: is this true?

The guy is FULL OF ****. A slip on aint no big deal to put on, a couple bolts is all. If its just a slip on there is a good possibilty you wont even need to rejet for the fact that most bikes are set a little rich stock.

Dude.. are u seriously asking all these questions or are u bullshitting ??

1st-- do NOT buy a damn D&D pipe.. all its just some LOUD *** PIPE .. and you will LOSE power instead of gaining ....
2-- $350 to put it on.. .DAMN>>> tell him to go rape his mom or something.. like everyone said its like 2 or 4 screws and dats all.
3-- If your bike is carb.. u need jets if its FI you need PC... and if i was you i wont even bother doing all that on a YZF.. honestly

$350 is the most ive ever heard. like everyone else has said, just a couple bolts, and its pretty easy.

Re: is this true?

That dude is full of $HIT!!! I have a slip on D&D. 5 bolts and 10 minutes...I had it on there. (Bud Light Break included). Unless you are getting a killer deal(which you are not) I wouldn't waste the money on a power commander. you will not see nor feel a big difference. Your throttle response will be a little bit more crisp. Other than that ....that's about it. Oh yeah...D&D pipes are loud as hell....and maybe a little crappy compared to others.... but for 75 bucks brand new...it was a killer deal 4 me...just my

Re: is this true?

I agree thats bull **** that price for changing a can. and if you switch the can only you don't have to jet your carbs I switched my can to a D&D and had no problems but then I put a full system on and then I had to put a jet kit in it. was he quoting the price for the install of the jet kit and the can then I could see that price making sense. but serously just switch the can your self
