undertail ?

i just put a hot bodies supersport undertail on my 02 f4i and instead of mounting the license plate like it says i put it In front of the back tire where the undertail and the existing fender well meet tou can still see it from the back unless your more than twenty feet away then the numbers and letters start getting cut off
i was just wondering how much you think the cops will bug me about it
i had one follow me for a few blocks this morning, but she did'nt pull say anything

Re: undertail ?

I've been pulled over befor with my plate behind my wheel. The cop let me go, but he questioned why I did it.

It all depends on the cop if he'll write you up or not.

Re: undertail ?

I guess it all depends on the cop. The first day I had mounted my undertail, I was getting a haircut at the local mall, and when I was walking in, I looked back and laughed at the angle of my license plate. There was a few cops in the front of the mall ( ). When I came out after my haircut, my license plate was bent down straight. The damn cops had just gone over to the undertail and bent it down. You could see the crease mark in the top. He came over and lectured me about how he could give me a $500 ticket for parking in the striped area between handicap spots. He's lucky that he didn't rip the mounting screws right threw the undertail when he was pullling on it... I woulda had to busta *****.

But, point is, I don't think too many of them care. The only time I think it matters is when they are LOOKING for something to pull you over for. And if they do try to pull you over, click the button to fold up your license plate, sit on the tank, do a spinderalla, flip them off, and hit the gas.

Re: undertail ?

I have the hot bodies undertail on my gixxer, apparently it was for a 1000 I didn't buy it so I dunno.

The license plate was mounted in the specified position cause it was installed by a shop.

On your exhaust? WTF? I guess I need to see a pic of what you're talking about. A plate hanging off the side of your slip-on would look ridiculous.

Re: undertail ?

used the supplied hotbodies bracket off mine and have it riveted on the chain guard above the swingarm. Mounted it in such a way that at high speed it won't bend over. looks dope, no probs took 10min.

Re: undertail ?

most of the people I ride with have it right there too, and the cops here in Chicago never pulled them over for that, if they do pull you over they'll probably just give you a fix it ticket, and all you have to do is put it where you can see it for a little bit take a pic take it to court and you'll be ok.
