Scotts Damper Install Help - Problem
Sup all, installing a scotts damper on my R6, well...when I mount the R6 adapter hardware and all and go to put the damper on, the pin/needle tower(on the frame) doesnt go through the damper arm all the way. Where the frame and front steering meet, it only goes about halfway through and needs to stick at least flush w/ it, get what im sayin??? How do I fix this? Any help would be greatly appreciated....

pull the pin out and make sure nothing it stopping the pin from going all the way through. Then use a punch and hammer or something to tap it through. DON'T HIT THAT HARD, TAP.

Your talking about the tower pin right?
Common Mistakes made during Mounting:
a) Having the main shaft of the stabilizer NOT positioned over the center of the
steer tube
b) Installing the tower pin without grease.
c) Not allowing the frame bracket to seat squarely and all the way down on the
head tube as designed.
d) Adjusting the tower pin height incorrectly. Do not allow it to bottom out on the flats.
e) Not cutting the edge of the seal on the head tube bearing when it interferes.
Lightly grease the tower pin and install it into the tank
mount bracket. This pin is designed to float within the
tank mount bracket.
Install the Scotts Damper using the 6mm x 25mm bolts.
(NOTE- Do not use the 6mm x 20mm bolt that come
with the Scotts Damper, they do not provide sufficent
thread overlap.) Be sure to apply threadlock to the bolts.
Refer to photo for proper fitment. The flats on the tower
pin align with the wiper arm. Be sure to lightly grease
the slot in the wiper arm to ensure proper working order.
ask yourself, did you do all this? ALSO
The Tower Pin height can be adjusted by moving the press-fit-collar up or
down. Simply tap it downward which moves the collar upward. To move
the pin upward, flip it over in the hole and tap until the collar is in the
correct position. The tower pin is designed to float to insure proper
alignment, keep it greased. Remove it with the damper when not in use.
NEVER WELD THE TOWER PIN, it requires no retaining devices.
Maintain a minimum of 20mm of the tower pin in the tower hole.

cool, got it all on, just had to knock down the white collar on the tower pin......but next thing.....this is the first time ive ridden w/ a damper, but it seems funny. When im riding straight, its like it wants to go to the right or to the left sometimes, its really sharp in the turns, but straights, does it ever feel kinda funny? Are there any weird things I have to get use to while riding w/ a damper on? ~nick

bro i just installed scotts on my f4i, **** feels madd weird, you see the little knobw right, if you followed the instructions and gave it 8 clicks thats wayyyyyyy to much bring it back about 5 or 6 clicks and youll be good to go, only tighten it if your gonna race, for stuntin back it off 4-6 clicks...
