Rolling Burnouts
Question for everyone... what is the easiest way to do long rolling burnouts? I tried starting off standing still and trying to let off the brake a little to get it to start moving, but the wheel started to come off the ground. Then, another time, I was already moving, I hit the front brake and rolled on the throttle really hard and it started to spin and I had no problems. I went and tried it right after, and when I did it, the front tire locked up and I almost high sided off my bike. In servin it up 2 I saw a long a** burnout but I didn't see if they were already moving or if they were going from a dead stop. What's the best way to get a good smokey burnout and roll that Biotch out for a long time? Thank you to anyone who can assist with this.

The reason u almost high-sided was cuz you just got done heating up your tire with the first burnout. I'm also trying to get rolling-burnouts down so someone with more experience will clear things up maybe. All I know is you gotta keep all your weight on front of the bike to make it easier.

That's what I am figuring, I grabbed it too much and it was enough to get the tire to break free, but too much to where it locked up the front. But I'm still not sure which is the best way to start rolling them out. Should I stop the bike, start spinning the tire and then ease off the brake, or is it easier to start to get the bike moving, then apply the brake and hit the gas? And I know to roll out the long ones, you lean over the front end, but if I'm doing that, do I use my arms to keep the bike straight, or do you still use your legs? Sorry for the dumb question, I just can't seem to get this down where I can roll them out consistantly. Thanks for the replies and hopefully there will be more people that can assist with the proper technique.

just get rollin 5-10 stand up grab the tank with you knees lean forward you wanna be foward so far that your actually can see you front fender over your tire and give it about 60-70% of the front brake and let out slowly till it feels comfortable the just steer the back with your legs

:YEAH You all rock!! Thank you for all your tips and advice on this. It's going to take practice, but if you don't even know the best way, it's that much harder. I appreciate all your responses and if anybody has any other suggestions let me know. I do some endo questions as well so if anyone can help with that please let me know. Thanks again everyone!!!!!

Yeah where the hell can you find those magazines?
I heard that has a bunch of information about stunting. I haven't heard that much about it, but I heard it's all about stunting. If that's true that is straight up

yeah if you go out and practice them you should be able to get them
i learnd them in about half a day just got rolling about 15 humped the tank and sliped the clutch

Perfect. Well out in Chicago it's going to be really nice this weekend, so I'll have to start practicing them. Thanks again for the help. I have one other question as long as you guys don't mind me asking. For rolling endos (now given I can't roll them out because I don't know even how to start) is it better to have a stiffer suspension or a softer suspension. Now I have an GSXR 1000 and I weigh about 265 so that's a lot of weight to get moving on the front tire. I don't know if I'm supposed to stiffen up the front end, or leave it looser. Also, I've heard this a couple different ways, but is the best way to roll out an endo, to begin by going about 30 MPH and then hit the front brakes pretty hard? I try doing that, but I think because of my weight, the forks are compressing and I'm not getting the back end up. I have no idea how high the back end is, so it's really hard to tell where I'm at. If any of you can help on this, I'd appreciate it. I can't stunt for crap so I'm just trying to learn, but I want to start slow because I don't have the money to fix my bike, so I want to learn slowly so I don't crunch up the bike really bad. I'd rather learn the proper way and start slow, and then go from there. Thanks again guys!

well im about 2fiddy and i ride a 03 gsxr600 and i never messed with my suspension, i think it has more to do with how hard u pull in the brake, u may be pulling it in to easy for a long time and letting ur suspension go down to far, if that makes any sence
but Thew says in his article in the SB mag that u should pull it in about 80% to get it in the air then gradually let out more to roll it and keep it up. ahhh hope that helps a little im no expert im learning myself

On the burn out I would realy try compresing the back shock before you shift your weight forwared/ kinda like the bounce you give a stand up but on the rear shock. I also clutch it while I grab the brake 70/80%. this get's alot of power while your geting all the weight off the back so be careful, it will spine real fast at first but once your weight come's back to the rear it will smoke alot and be ez to control,just fether the brake and be ez with the gas
