1975 CB200, can't keep the wheel up..

I've started learning slow stuff on my CB200 and I've gotten the wheel up to 10 o clock but I can never keep it up.. I know it's going to be hard because it only has 17HP and weighs 300 pounds dry but I think it's possible.

I put my feet on the bar behind the seat, take my body off the seat, rev it to redline and drop the clutch at sub 5mph. I tug the bars pretty hard and I've ridden it for 10 feet but after that it won't stay up...

It might be that I'm purposely shifting my weight because I'm afraid of looping, but are there some things I should practice?

Ok I went out again for about a half an hour and revved it past red line (that can't be good for the bike, then again, **** it) and got it up to what seemed like a 12..

I rode it for 30 feet but had to shut it down because it was wobbling too much. What tire pressure should I be at? The recommended PSI is 32 I believe.. Here's a picture.

how wide is the tire
drop it to like 18 is good if you want you can go lower but there is no real need

The tire is really narrow, maybe 3 inches wide...

damn i would buy it for 200 bucks. your biggest problem is prolly.
A. Not boucing hard enough. bounce the *** outta it.
B. Take pressure out to about 10-18
C. Your not really hitting the balance point. it FEELS high to you but your not getting it to 10 or 12 like you think it just feels like your starting to get it high. just keep on practicing and practicing and practiicng.

Nah dude it was straight at least 10, cause I was keeping it up without much throttle just by standing, I'll try lowering the tire pressure..

By the way I'm not bouncing it, I'm clutching it up.. How would I go about bouncing and clutching at the same time?

Not to go off topic but I was also trying to wheelie in 2nd gear on my 600 today and it seemed like I could get the wheel to go up more than 2 feet. I was sitting all the way back on the seat and gave it a good 5-7000 revs, should I give it more?

i have a 954 and it will come up in second no problem, but my buddy has an '03 gixxer 6 and i had to slide ALL THE WAY BACK on the seat(*** against cowl) keep knees tight against the tank and arms straight, run about 9-10 rpms, pull clutch just enough to disengage trans., open it up and release the clutch(all this done in a split second). If it doesnt come up the first time, do it again. the added rpms from the first attempt should help. hope that helps

2 things.

if your doing sitdown wheelies you want to keep your ***** as close to the tank as possible. i know that doesn't seem to make sense but then you can hold your back straight and hit the balance point. when your leaning far back it doesn't work out and the balance point is so high its creepy.

also you bounce and clutch at the same time. it helps soo much. no bounce on my 600 i will go to around 9k and with bounce i goto 6k. you just jump with your feet and release the clutch at the same time ish.

Hmm, ok, I don't really know how to bounce it though. I weigh 140 pounds and it's really hard for me to get the bike to move at all without making it swerve.

If you stand merely on your pegs your shock will compress, 140 pounds should be plenty on your old bike to get them to compress. Tenny means to clutch it at the same time you stand up and shift your weight down, the two when timed together wil get the front wheel up fast enough so you will have some energy left to figure out riding it out.

Nah I was talking about the 600.

I can't do standups on the cb200 cause it doesn't have enough power, I have to
put my feet on the end of the frame to get it up past 5 o clock.

On the GSXR though, I just sit down with my foot on passenger peg, rev it, and stand up as I drop the clutch?
