Re: What year 900RR is the Best??

pre '96 have different motors (more prone to blowing). the front end also sucks. however the frame is stronger.

96/97 have the newer motor, but the front end (rotors, etc) aren't as good.

98/99 have the newer motor and the best front end-same one gorka rolled 1000 feet on...

the front ends (forks, triples, rims, rotors) can be swapped on all years, but requires all those parts to swap.

get as new a year as possible.

he's talking about the 900RR not the 929 which would be 2000 or 2001 the 2002 is a 954. My choice of them would be the 98-99 as all the parts are interchangeable.

There are a few different 900's for sale in my area and I like the look of the 98/99's a lot! I've heard good things about them and I'm planing on going out and test riding a few of them when the rain decides to take a break. Prices are ranging from $5000-6000 I just dont want to get a lemon. Anything I should look out for??????

96-up....dont matter what it looks like since itll probably get fed up while ur learning...and if u want better forks and brakes just do a straight swap with a 929 front end...bolts right up......steering lock just doesnt work

If you can afford it, 954 is the way to go, It's an animal. Otherwise, the best 900RR is the one that runs smooth, doesn't slip out of gear when power shifting, and is the cheapest . " :YEAH Who gives a shiat what year it is, when it has fur on it?"

I think you are buying his grandson's pressure washed race bike with new bodywork. 20,000 miles, unless its an APRILIA or a year 2000 or newer sportbike, shiat ain't worth but $3000. If that's the case, go get a '98 ZX9R for $4k and wheelie your *** off

I've done it in 3rd but no higher, your speed has to be up too that way it doesn't bog in 3rd.

normally I was just getting up to about 75-80 and then just let off the gas till it slowed down to about 60-65 and then just clutched it up, they made for good 130-140mph wheelies on the highway
