Will my Gisxer do it?
Will my Gisxer do it?
Alright this may be a completly stupid question
But last season i bought my self an 07' Gsxr 600. I dont have fuel injection or any aftermarket stuff on it, Just a carbin slip on by hindle. At the end of the season this year i started to try and do wheelies with it and i found by bouncing it 2 or 3 times on the front wheel well in 1st gear i could get it up about a foot. but then id hit red line and down she comes. Iv read some stuff about cluching it up and id like to try that when the snow melts. but as for now, any sujestions? ANd do you think that this bike will actualy wheelie very high???

and yeah you should be able to wheelie that even in first just sit down have the bike warm get around to 7k let of then pull back and pin it i should come right up

first off i wish i had a 07 gixxer6
but anyway yes your bike will do a wheelie and a very high one at that in fact if you dont watch it youll loop it. in first gear at about 45 to 50 mph pull the clutch in give it 1 or 2 high revs and let it go at the peak of you rev. just cover your rear brake so you can keep it under control. learning brake control and clutching it is the only way to go. just my 2 cents take it with a grain of salt

im assuming you mean a 97, so i will tell you this, get rolling on your bike in one smooth motion get on it hard and when it gets around 4k slip the clutch....pull it in enough that it rolls not in gear and let it back out, i usually do it every single turn i make from a stop, as soon as the bike is straight, i slip it but stay on the gas, start with a small slip to get the feel for the jump, then slip in longer.....it will come up fast so be carefull...
if your still having trouble, try the same technic going up hill, you will see it does it imediatly, so watch out!!!!

good advice there, cover the brake always. each bike is different so just get used to your bike. with time and practice you'll get it. anything can be wheelied, trust me
