how close am i guys? Yeah I know bad form elbows bent hugging the gas tank.

from how your standing, looks like you might wanna try sit downs. with sit downs your body stays basically in the same position and you will know how far you are based on what you can (and cant see) of the road in front of you. once all you cant see much of the road anymore (except through your fairing) your good.

does the bike float while your up there, can you let off the gas and the bike just kinda stay up on its own with your body balancing it?

You'll know it when you get close. You will almost be at neutral throttle, but still have enough engine break to get the front end back down.

doesn't look like you are all the way there yet. again, get a side pic.

the balance point also varies with speed...the faster you are, the lower the BP is.

that's why the balance point for slow stuff in parking lots is damn near a 12, but you rock the interstate you are a lot lower.
