3rd gear bounce on a 600 ?
I did a search but cant find ****. Im trying to bounce 3rd on my 01gsxr600 and its got a -1 in front. Ive been told it can be done but ive been trying my *** off and cant get it. I even took off my stainless steel frame sliders that are liek 4lbs each to just make me a little ligther in the front. Ive been revving hard to like 75mph letting off bounce and twisting it and nothing. Should i try putting my left foot on the rear peg or both feet on the rear??? Any tips for getting this beyatch in the air??

i tried clutching it today and seemed a little sketchy standing going 80mph and clutching it i thought i was gonna get my *** tossed off the back. So after my 2nd try i tried doing it with my left foot on rear peg and right on drivers peg. I rolled off the throttle gave it a bounce and snapped it and it came up but only a few inches i think i cut the throttle off cuz i pussed out. im not used to wheelieng wit my left foot on rear peg.
Should i be standing when i clutch it or should i try sitting far back clutching it up - then standing up?

If your bouncin down with your feet, don't. Bounce down with your hands an let the forks preload, as they rebound pop the the clutch and give it gas, even if you think your givin it alotta gas your probably not if you've been ridin a while your hands proly dont wanna let you slam on it as hard as you need to to get it up in 3rd.Hope this helps a little. Keep practicin it'll come.

i dont even care im trying everything i read just cuz ive been wanting to get 3rd up so bad. My second gear is shot, and 1st gear is only fun for so long. So all im left with on my 600 is 3rd gear unless i get new sprockets. I wouldnt say theres any bad advice besides the people saying you need the clutch . Cuz ive seen 3rd gear bounced on stock.

On my 600R I have to clutch and bounce at the same time.......mind you my stock weight is 430lbs.....it's a 1995 bike...but I did sprocket it down 1, up 2. I did pull them up around 60mph with that set-up.

Pushing down with your arms...is asking for trouble at high speeds....that is what I meant by "bad advice"
but by no means have i mastered the "wheelie"

That GSXR WILL power third gear standups all day with the gearing that you have. I used to stunt a '95 YZF600R with -2 front, and +2 rear gearing, and I could power up 3rd gear standups pretty easy. Not bad for a bike that only has about 90 rwhp, and weighs over 400 lbs. dry.
I'd suggest that you loosen up the rebound damping on your front forks, as that will help the forks rebound faster, thus lifting harder on the front end. You adjust that by turning the slot screw adjustment thingy on the tops of your fork legs counterclockwise. See how that works for ya'.
