Well the way i learned was 2 cruise and raise the rpms up 2 around 5 grand and slip the clutch and it comes right up then i just practiced adding distance which is not hard after you're used to lifting it up .....good luck

i got an 01 gix 6, and im new at wheelies and **** but the way I get it to come up is to bring it up to aroound 8k in 1st gear let off -- and youll feel the front shocks compress after you let off the tach will prob be around 6-7k now, and then i just snap that throttle back as hard as i can. next thing you know is you got lift off.

dont do this. powering up wheelies is unpredictable & u cant slow them down. learn the right way from the begining. go in 2nd around 30 pull in clutch with one or two fingers raise rpms about 3000 and dump the clutch. stay on the gas and cover your rear brake. if it doesnt come up high enough then keep raising the rpms. do it by sound not by lookin at the tach. sit far back in seat, dont lean forward & keep arms striaight. should come right up. keep practicing till it does.

learn clutch.. i'm just starting to move into clutch wheelie, i've been doing power wheelie, and the clutch is smoother and easyer to control, just got to slip it. at least that's what i'm finding.

I used to do power wheelies on my 99 gixxer 600 didn't want to fry my clutch. Could bounce a 2nd or 3rd gear standup w/o clutch. Now I've got a 900rr and all I ever do is clutch it. Find I can get it up higher, quicker, and is more predictable. No need to speed up anymore. No more tickets for speeding while wheeling.

yeah first gears on these feel soooo smooth. Were you guys able to get second gear to come up without bouncing with stock gears? Now I have up 2 in the rear and second still does not want to clutch up. Do you have any tips.

That's what I figured. I am already looking for a 750 motor for mine. Kinda sucks cause I just changed the rear (+2) and the front sprockets and went brain dead and didn't even drop the front any. Thanks for the tips.

I have to agree...I think that power wheelies at a fast speed are more fun because your adreniline is still pumping at speed. The slower stuff IS harder, but doesn't seem as fun. Don't feel bad, I can hit 1 out of 4 clutched wheelies on a good day. When I figure it out...I'll let you know.

well i have more fun trying to do slow wheelies instead of highspeed stuff.... as for clutching 2nd my gearing is -1 and +3 so it can power 2nd.... but for clutching i like have it at a steady rpm at like 40-45 mph and pull in the clutch still holding it at that rpm that it was at..... then JUST UNLOAD THROTTLE AND WHACK DAT THROTTLE OPEN and it should come up im definitly gonna miss the 600 but only good should be coming out of upgrading to the R1.
