have on 05 r6 salvage everything is fine on the bike etc etc except the frame if cracked..., if i was to have an 04 frame that has a clean title on it...do i have to re title the bike and what not? how does that work to get it back on the road in ny?

 

if you have an 04 frame with a title then you would register the 04

 

the only problem is you said, NY...if you said anywhere besides NY then it wouldnt be a big deal...once you get the frame thing figured out, you have to set up an inspcetion with DMW by mail, they will contact you by mail with the date of your inspection. then you will recive your title in the mail if you passs the whole process takes about 7 weeks. oh, and it costs $300 for your inspection, if you pass....then $250 to retake it if you fail...jut letting you know what your getting into with NY.

If the 04 frame is clean. You just swap everything over and register the 04. No inspection because the bike has a clean title.

 

good point, so make sure you swap with a clean frame and get the clean title..

 

and then sell me your title to the 05

yeah i have an 04 frame so i may just swap everything over...instead of nys salvage inspection...thanks for the help
