f4i wont start
f4i wont start
Dropped my '01 f4i, and it started right up when I stood it up, but when I got it home, I didn't realize the headlight had gotten disconnected and it was turning over but not starting. Finally I realized my mistake, and plugged the light in. The bike started right up, but smoked out my whole garage in 15 seconds, shut itself off, and now I cant hear the fuel pump whine when I turn the key on. This blows. Help!!!
Re: f4i wont start
sadly this is wat i always think of wen someone drops there bike then has fuel pump problems... tip sensor maybe. which on ur i believe is by the headlight so if everything got fried that makes sense. one of the wires is prolly jacked up

Re: f4i wont start
ya sounds like the tipover switch got disconnected and the smoke is probably oil in the air box , do the clean air mod to keep from hydro locking your motor
im also having a hard time starting my f4i, it ran fine but when i got to the lot the battery was dead so i tried push starting it without any luck and then i jumped it. When i did that the bike turned over but didnt start all i smelled was raw gas. so i took out the plugs and they were soaked in gas. i cleaned and put them back and the bike started but ran like **** wouldnt idle and sounded rough. I know the plugs can cause this but i just replaced them last summer and i only ride lots with this bike so i didnt put that much miliage on the bike
Do these symptoms sound like a pressure regulator cause from what i read thats a common problem wiith these bike?
Im gonna get some cheap plugs tomorrow and see if that helps but for now any thoughts?
