R1 helpppppppppppppp

Ok here is the proplem my buddy told me to take the hose of the air box to the top of the motor and plug them both up so i would stop getting oile in the air box and i started the nike up and maybe 2 mins of it sitting at idle we heard a sound like a blow off valve/air comprosser turning off and it keep doing fine we went on a little ride and i notice some oil coming from the side of the motor from under the gas tank there looks to be like some valve that 2 hoses run into from the carbs into the engine and i am not able to figure out if that was the cause i took it out and the gtasket was fine. Another one of my friends thats an actual stunter told me sometime you can blow seals but i am not seeing anywhere a seal can be leaking. So if Anyone has heard of this happening before and can shoot me towards different directions while i have the motor out i would be grateful. Thanks

Re: R1 helpppppppppppppp

Yea don't plug up the crankcase breather. That will cause the motor to pressurize and it won't run as good. What you do is remove the AIS and divert the crankcase breather from the airbox. So instead of the breather venting to the airbox it vents to the head, where it is released to the exhaust side of the head and expelled. I'm not to familiar with the R1 because I haven't looked at one to do the clean air mod. But if anything like the R6 there should be an AIS that is hooked up to the head. That is removed and the crankcase vent tube is extended to where the AIS was and T'ed in.

Something like this(on a 2nd gen R6), though only pay attention to hoses #1,2, and 4. Hose #3 was a mistake in this picture. Should give you some idea as to what should be done. If you are still confused take the tank and airbox off and take some pictures and we'll see if we can't figure it out.
