Title dilemna

Hey guys. I said howdy in the newbie area already and now I'm gonna ask for some help.

I just got a line on a 06 F4i for a great price. Low mileage and just a couple scratches. Haven't paid for it yet but its locked down, waiting for the PayPal transfer. Problem is this:

Bike has a Parts Only title in Alabama. Branded like that, it can only be branded as Salvage in AL by someone bonded to do the work. Here in Pennsylvania, they won't touch a title branded as Parts Only from another state. Haven't gotten the details on how it landed a Parts Only brand but the bike looks damn near immaculate, with scratches barely worthy of a noob drop.

So what can I do in this situation?

Pulled a VIN search from Alabama's state website

Brands: SALVAGE TITLE, PARTS ONLY - NON-REBUILDABLE, ODOMETER READING IS THE ACTUAL MILEAGE

Pennsylvania won't touch that. Had never heard of it before either. Another oddity is the title was issued 02/02/2010.

thats probably the date the insurance company totaled it , the only thing you will probably be able to do with that is to show ownership but i doubt you will ever be able to register it

Would a frame swap make it too much hassle?

Re: Title dilemna

Bike was on eBay and its still in Alabama. I'm gonna bail on it I think. If the guy tries to hit me with neg feedback I'll just point out to eBay where it says quite specifically a vehicle with that title can't be sold to anyone but a bonded garage.

Frame swap would prolly clear it. But that'd push the cost outside it being a great deal and into "Can't ride for a month or 2" + regular price. And all my friends have gone legit, no longer having the contacts to 'correct' something like that
